Dead Poets Society Night, December 14, 2021

Please join me on Tuesday, December 14, 7pm at Clintons, 693 Bloor West, for the Art Bar’s Dead Poets Society Night.

The Dead Poets Society Night is an annual tradition at the Art Bar Poetry Series, normally held in mid-December. Those performing read from the poetry of dead poets. For several years now, this event has been hosted by poet David Clink.

2021 DPSN readers (and their chose poets) include: Marsha Barber (Dorothy Livesay), Margaret Christakos (bpNichol), George Elliott Clarke (Derek Walcott), Simon Constam (Lawrence Ferlinghetti), Kate Marshall Flaherty (T. S. Eliot), Michael Fraser (Arna Bontemps), Catherine Graham (Brendan Kennelly), Stephen Humphrey (Joe Rosenblatt), Clifton Joseph (Kamau Brathwaite), Bruce Meyer (Mary Oliver & Peter Porter), A. F. Moritz (Robert Bridges) and Myna Wallin (Fraser Sutherland).

Since this event features a full roster of readers, there will be no traditional Art Bar open stage. Stay tuned for more Art Bar Poetry Series readings, with the open stage component, in 2021!

Dead Poets Night takes place on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Clinton’s, 693 Bloor Street West (nearest Christie Subway Station). Food will be available at 6pm. Clinton’s is offering select menu items at a reduced rate. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the event begins at 7pm.

This event functions as a fundraiser for the Art Bar Series itself. There is a cover charge of $12. $10 represents the charge at the door, and $2 and up is the requested donation.

Covid Measures

Clinton’s will follow the protocols and capacity limits that are in place at the time of the event. Under current conditions, this requires that all attendees provide proof of vaccination, filling approximately 25 tables of 3-4 people each.
