Dead Poets Society Presser!

George Elliott Clarke reads poems by Derek Walcott at Clinton’s.  EDUARDO LIMA / FOR THE TORONTO STAR

I was very happy to read Kathy Flaxman’s review of our December Dead Poet’s Society event at the Art Bar in this weekend’s Toronto Star. And I was happy to be included in the assessment:

The current Poet Laureate of Toronto, Al Moritz, who was warmly greeted by the audience, has kind words for the weekly series. “The Art Bar,” he says, “is the longest continuously running poetry series in Canada and counts as a national treasure.”

In addition, Star photographer Eduardo Lima took several fabulous photos of the readers, including former Toronto Laureate, George Elliott Clarke, above, and my friend the poet, Myna Wallin, below.

Read Flaxman’s article in its entirety and view all of the magnificent photographs HERE.
