The effects of Moritz’s poems are startling, unnerving, and deeply satisfying.”
– Micheline Maylor
Quill & Quire has published a starred review of The Sparrow in their April 2018 edition. In “A Resplendent Sparrow,” Micheline Maylor calls The Sparrow “an essential read.” Maylor identifies a “cohesive arc” to the selected, identifying both the optimism of the poems as well as the ability to “almost scold humanity for its ignorance and myopia.”
I am especially pleased to have The Sparrow considered in an issue which features poetry as its cover story. The April 2018 edition of Quill & Quire, entitled “The Poets of Spring,” features new books from Shannon Webb Campbell, Dani Couture, Emma Healey, and Jeff Latosik. I will be launching my collected alongside of Emma Healey in April. [See my Events page for a reading near you.]
