The Tough Romance, A Commemoration for Six Italo-Canadian Poets

Hello, friends! Please come to a celebration and reading of six outstanding poets, recently deceased, who were major participants in the Italo-Canadian poetry phenomenon of the 1970s and after: one of the major components of the new Canadian literature of the 1960s and 1970s.

The poets are Giorgio Di Cicco, Verena Fazio, Len Gasparini, Luciano Iacobelli, Antonino Mazza, and Dorina Michelutti. Selections from their poetry will be read in English and Italian, and there will be a brief discussion of the movement they were integral in creating.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30) on Thursday, October 19, at the Charbonnel Lounge, 81 St. Mary Street, in Elmsley Hall, St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto.

I look forward to seeing you!
