A. F. Moritz’s most recent book is The Sparrow: Selected Poems (2018). He has published 20 books of poetry, which have received many national and international honours, including the Griffin Poetry Prize, the Award in Literature of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Guggenheim Fellowship, Poetry magazine’s Bess Hokin Award, and selection to the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets; three of his books have been finalists for the Governor General’s Award. Moritz is the Blake C. Goldring Professor of the Arts and Society at Victoria University in the University of Toronto. He is poet laureate of Toronto, the sixth poet to hold this office.

Janice Jo Lee (she/her), aka Sing Hey, is a Korean-Canadian artist from Kitchener, on Haldimand Tract treaty territory. She is a nationally-touring folk singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, spoken word poet, playwright-actor, and educator. She is passionate about building flourishing communities based in justice and joy through art. On stage Janice is known for being disarmingly hilarious, off-the-cuff and fearlessly honest. She is a hard femme, queer, radical, comedian, truth-teller and trickster. She is working on her upcoming albums Ancestor Song, Lonely is the Lullaby, and a new bouffon musical satire about the climate apocalypse.

Tranzac Club is an accessible venue with no stairs (aside from the stage) and they have two accessible gender neutral washrooms. Please refrain from using perfume.

This event is partially supported by the League of Canadian Poets and the Toronto Arts Council.
