Poetry and Healing Launch #NPM2020

With Poetry & Healing, we all can explore the indigenous concept of “medicine,” the healing power of words, and the transformative and inspiring power of poetry. – Kate Marshall Flaherty
Please join me for the League of Canadian Poets’ inaugural fundraiser for Sick Kids Hospital, “Poetry & Healing.” Over the month of April, twelve poets will share recordings of their poetry and discuss the healing journey of writing, reading, listening, and meditation.
The roster of poets includes Al Moritz, Luciano Iacobelli, Kate Marshall Flaherty, Lois Lorimer, Daniel David Moses, Ronna Bloom, Rajinderpal Pal, Catherine Graham, Dr. Conor McDonnell, Jacob Shier, Ayesha Chatterjee, and Corrado Paina.
The event takes place all month at Poetry and Healing: http://poets.ca/poetry-and-healing/ as part of the League’s National Poetry Month celebrations #NPM2020. You can also visit the League on Facebook!
My own reading will be featured on April 21, 2020. You can hear, “The Healer is Dead,” followed by a meditation and poetry prompt to musical score by Cathy Nosaty. Please be sure to check Poetry and Healing on this date!
And, on April 30, 2020, Poetry and Healing will be presenting a “Poem in Your Pocket” day, on which the League will publish each of the featured poems in the series to celebrate the close of #NPM2020.
